I guess since I can’t remember the name of this place we’ll just say it was OK. Recall from a previous post when I talked about tomato soups and the fine line between soup and just plain pizza sauce. My recollection of this tomato soup was unfortunately of the latter kind. It was OK, but had the consistency and flavor of a pizza sauce. The salmon was tasty, but it doesn’t hold a candle the the salmon at Grovewood Tavern. I asked for the sauce on the side because it was a type of chili soy sauce. I’m glad I asked for it on the side because not only am I not a fan of spicy sauces, but also look the amount of sauce I was given in proportion to my salmon. I like salmon that has flavor to stand on it’s own rather than depending on a sauce to give it flavor. A sauce should accentuate flavor, not be a substitute. Although I was generally underwhelmed with my dinner, dessert kind of made up for it. It was raspberry champagne cake. The cake layers were very moist and the raspberry filling was perfectly sweet.
