West Crust Artisan Pizza Pies - Lubbock, TX
What's is like to eat the best pizza in Texas according to Food Network? It's fabulous and amazing. Some of you may disagree, but there really is no better pizza than one that is freshly made and tossed with innovative combinations of ingredients. That's what makes West Crust a must do experience in Lubbock. Now with 2 locations in Lubbock, North and South, you don't have much of an excuse not to try this place.
One of things I love about West Crust is the special pizza. This time around it just so happens to be this masterpiece: The Mac Lovin'. It's a lovely pie made with red sauce and parm. But the star is most definitely the mac and cheese AND bacon bits. It's carb heaven. The mac and cheese is sprinkled over the pie and comes out extra cheesy. The bacon bits are crispy and adds a great smokey flavor. I'm not sure how long they will have this beauty so make your way over there ASAP, like this weekend.
No worries if bacon and/or mac and cheese isn't your thing (blasphemy!) or if you missed it. West Crust offers several different pies all served on a thin crust that are chock full of flavor. They also have a gluten free version that's pretty tasty. One of my favorites is the Hill Country that's made with turkey bacon - I love any kind of bacon in case you couldn't tell - glazed pecans, red onions, feta and mozzarella on olive oil. I love the glazed pecans because they add a nice sweetness to the pizza. I also like the non-traditional olive oil for those times a red sauce isn't enough.
Make your way over to their original location off 82nd Street or the new one next to the Alamo Drafthouse off North Loop 289. You'll have a great gourmet thin crust pizza with unique ingredients.
