Granite City Food & Brewery located in Legacy Village is one of the newest of it’s kind to open up. I ordered from a pre-fixe menu selected just for our group. The appetizers included the Asian Glazed Shrimp and Margherita Flatbread. The Asian Glazed Shrimp had just the right amount of spice from Granite’s signature spicy Asian glaze. The Margherita Flatbread was also delicious with a homemade marinara sauce and balsamic glaze.
For a refreshing adult beverage I had the Pineapple Canton Cooler. It was very tropical as one might imagine with the flavors of pineapple, oranges, pear, vanilla and ginger. The ginger taste came from the Domaine de Canton, something I had never had before. It was quite tasty and not too heavy on the alcohol, which is perfect for me.
I started with the french onion soup followed by the Adult Bock Mac & Cheese. One really can’t go wrong with a lot of things, one of them being french onion soup. It had a hardy broth and was perfect to warming you up on a cold wintery Cleveland night. The mac & cheese was a little on the dry side for my tasting (how that’s possible with melted cheese, I’m not sure), however, the bacon did make up for it. It also had a little bit of a kick from the red pepper flakes and although I don’t like spice the flakes gave it just the right amount for me.
Overall I enjoyed Granite City and would put on the list to try again and see what else they offer on the menu.
