Burntwood Tavern - Lyndhurst, OH (Cleveland)
Taverns seem to be everywhere these days and they offer a great casual atmosphere to get together with friends to have a good meal. Burntwood Tavern is no exception and was a great place to go with a small group of work friends after a day long meeting.
Burntwood Tavern in Lyndhurst just recently opened, but there are several locations throughout Cleveland. You can find a lot of different things to try from Angus Beef Sliders to Blackend Shirmp Tacos along with many salad options and a couple of flatbread pizzas. Since the Lyndhurst location was near an office complex, the bar was hopping on a weeknight and there was about a 20 minute wait for a party of six. You can make reservations for a larger party and I would suggest you do since they are still so new.
I kept my dinner simple and ordered the Fish Sandwich minus the bun. Someone else ordered the Fish & Chips and it looks like the only difference was that coleslaw came with the entree but not the sandwhich. It was a great piece of fried cod. I liked that it was just one decent size filet. It was lightly battered and fried. The fish was moist and tender. The jalapeno tartar sauce had bits of jalapeno mixed it. It wasn't too spicy for me and provided a nice rich sauce for dipping. The french fries were perfectly cooked as well. They were crispy on the outside with a soft center.
I would recommend Burntwood Tavern to anyone looking for a fun and casual place to go to after work. With so many locations throughout Cleveland you can find one nearby. Just be sure to call ahead or make reservations if you don't want to wait too long or sit at the bar.
